Welle7

A digital shopping and business hub

Welle7 is the digitalized shopping and business hub in the epicentre of Berne that features an extensive digital ecosystem for next-generation customers.

Crafting a digital ecosystem

In 2015, BUERGY was commissioned by the agency Republica to help conceive and design the entire digital experience (including a Responsive Website, Mobile App, Media-Panels) of Bern's next digital hub Welle7. The long-term assignment included concept, design, Information architecture, UX/UI, service strategy and consulting for a multitude of services and digital touch-points.

Bigger than anything created so far

With an estimated traffic of 50'000 pedestrians per day and a comprehensive service offer - ranging from retail-shopping, news and information, marketing push systems, fast-lane food ordering, home delivery services, room booking, touchpoint information panels, collect lounge parcel, digital printing with credit, mobile payment integration... just to name a few - the digital footprint on Welle7 is bigger and more comprehensive than any project BUERGY created so far.

A dazzling retail and service app

The Welle7-App is designed to give customers control over everything they want. By letting users actually connect to the mall they get all information though push notifications and a steady news stream, while others can simply order a meeting room or grab a coffee on their way to Berne's trainstation. The app is always informative and relevant. By allowing users to customize their experience, the app always serves the user with exactly the right content to keep him or her engaged with the shopping and business center while discovering new products and using their favourite services.

There is more...

Smart door locks

Smart door locks offer a sophisticated “access control” to any rented business room in the Welle7. Visitors can enable a door to unlock and/or share access with any number of others, using the wallet ticket or digital reservation. Physical keypads provide a backup to unlock, but are no longer the main way to let yourself into the Welle7 Workspaces. BUERGY designed the interface for this physical application.

360° virtual tour

The digital transformation of retail is not all bad news for physical malls and business centers. On the contrary, it presents new opportunities for malls to engage consumers throughout their decision journeys. The main way that we are digitising the mall shopper’s experience at the moment is by extending it to outside of the visit. For example with a 360° virtual tour.
