More than a hotel...

The Baur au Lac is internationally renowned as one of the world's top luxury hotels, offering the ultimate in comfort and privacy since 173 years. Set in its own park in the center of Zürich, the hotel enjoys a unique location overlooking the lake and the swiss Alps.

In order to amplify the hotel’s unique offering and to meet important demand of a good online conversion, BUERGY led the conception and design of the global responsive website for Baur au Lac. The technical development was made by the agency MySign. From browsing the offerings of the incorporated dining venues, to planning and booking the stay, the digital platform is designed to provide a seamless, intuitive experience across all devices.

Rich functionality and a luxurious experience

The goal was to completely redesign the website from the front- and back-end perspective in order to provide all necessary information to the guests, have a clean and contemporary web aestethic and a fast access to the booking engine.

The new website creates a better experience for users and increases the visits, pageviews and time on site. Taking into account the habits and behavior of the customers, as well as the way they consume content on mobile devices, we put an emphasis on the simplicity of navigation and interaction. Besides a magnificent desktop experience we adjusted the mobile version in a way that enables users to reach the desired information and take appropriate actions faster. To maintain the luxurious atmosphere of the website, the booking process had to convey the same emotions. We opted for a minimalist approach that highlights the most important features and keeps the website clean and simple.
