Refreshing the identity and digital hub of hotelrevue.ch, the Online-Voice of Switzerland's Hotel, Gastronomy and Tourism industry.

A fresh look

hotelrevue is Switzerland’s professional publication delivering indepth reports and background stories from the hotel, gastronomy and tourism industry.

When hotelrevue came to us, they wanted to create a new online stage for their journalism with a focus on deeper narratives and responsiveness. The challenge for us was to help transform and relaunch their online platform into a relevant news source that is also technically future-proof. With the htr.ch team and our technical networking partner Gutknecht-Informatik GmbH, we kicked off the project two intense workshops to specify the needs.

A main challenge of the relaunch was to make the most out of a vast amount of content by providing a variety of entry points to topic pages and lead them to all relevant next reads and in-depth stories about particular topics. At the same time, it was also a challenge to enrich longreads with additional related information. With our experience from other projects in the editorial design field, we know that reading routines are dynamic — so we had to create new narrative formats that applied to users’ daily reading routines and redesigns the newsletter. 

hotelrevue had also decided to update their design and visual language and we made a refresh on the logo and coloring of the brand.
