Since the very beginning, Baur au Lac Vins has focused on quality wines and exclusivities paired with premium service. This quality of standard should also be reflected in the new online shop. And that's why they commissioned MySign and BUERGY to conceive, design and develop a new shop.

Next to a wide range of wine and exclusive champagnes, Baur au Lac Vins offers its customers a handpicked selection of delicatessen - both in-Store and online. As a specialist retailer with a strong heritage, Baur au Lac Vins sells only 1A branded products and focuses on offering the highest level of products and service to its customers. And since online-shopping became a highly performant market in the last years, everybody in the team knew that the shop needs to be just perfect to drive sales.


eCommerce strategy from the bottom up

As we defined the eCommerce experience, we put the wine enthusiast at the heart of our efforts. Focused on best-practice and established user behaviour, we designed a site framework that brings the extensive range of products in a lean and quick way to its audience. To achieve this goal, we followed a strict process; we created the IA, then made paper-tests with user groups, followed by high-fidelity wireframes in a clickable prototype before transferring everything into a clickable design-prototype which has also been tested by many people in two separate sessions. Only after that, we started production to develop the system.

The result: A fully fledged online-shop

Throughout the user journey, brand storytelling and product presentation work together, seamlessly blending information and sales. With simplicity at the core of the user experience, we brought the site to life with rich content and delightful micro-interactions that inspire customers to browse as well as buy. After just four months of development, the new Online-Shop online shop went live.
