There is no doubt that 360-degree videos are stunning. Now there is an easy way to experience virtual reality for a broad audience...and BUERGY is experimenting with it.
It’s fast, it runs on mobile and the potential audience isn’t limited to owners of VR goggles. 360° content is certainly an amazing way to tell stories and to market your products. The 360° videos offer a relatively easy bridge to experience "Virtual Reality" on the go - you just need a mobile phone and an internet connection.
VR uses an array of sensors to precisely track the movement of your head and/or mobile device. The computer then perfectly maps the real-world movement onto your view of a virtual world. If you turn your head to the left in the real world, the computer exactly mimics your movement in the rendered world. When executed perfectly, VR tricks your brain into thinking that what you see is real, on both a conscious and subconscious level. Viewers using a desktop environment such as Youtube or Google’s Chrome browser can pan around in any direction in the 360-degree videos. The videos are shot using special cameras that look in all directions, and software stitches together all the video.
When you are on mobile, it’s like you are in the video itself and as you move your phone, the view in the video moves with it. Where as wearers of headsets like Oculus Rift or Google Cardboard can see images in three dimensions as they swivel the head around to change their view.

VR will likely impact many major industries including gaming, education, healthcare, fitness, e-commerce, social, mobile, entertainment, technology, real estate and travel to name a few. People can already tour such locales as the Palace of Versailles and Pompeii in 360 degrees from home. Now they can watch live orchestras, attend big sports events and walk virtually through an art gallery! The possibilities are endless!
